It is lambing season and today I experienced a wonderful sight – the birth of two baby lambs at The Woodlands Farm Trust.
The second lamb needed a helping hand but both the mother and her young are doing fine.
Woodlands Farm is a wonderful place for both children and adults alike. The farm, which is situated at the bottom of Shooters Hill in Welling, is an actual working farm covering a total of 89 acres.
Woodlands has been a farm since the early 1800’s but in more recent years became derelict. The Woodlands Farm Trust was founded in 1997 and bought a 999 year lease on the farm with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Bridge House Estates Trust and is now completely run by a team of volunteers.
The farm runs a whole series of educational events for both school children and adults alike. and also many community occasions. For further information or if you would like to volunteer your services please have a look at their website: http://www.thewoodlandsfarmtrust.org
